Max and the Schnauzer
On this week's encore edition of Car Talk, we delve deep into the archives and present our all-time most requested call. It's the ultimate Shaggy Dog story--literally: an epic saga of Max the car dealer and his unfortunate encounter with a customer's pet pooch. And it's got a twist that'll leave you shaking your muzzle in disbelief.
While we're telling stories, Ray's got a painfully funny tale involving an exercise bike and a greasy substance that he thought was Vaseline. Also, for those you wishing to hear some actual CAR talk, we meet the Chuck Yeager of CV joints, a Buick owner laments that his car drinks oil, "faster than he can drink beer", and is there any way a wife can keep her husband on the straight and narrow, or at least, off the median-- aside from screaming, that is? All this and much more, this week on Car Talk.

Boooogus Science
In this week’s Car Talk, a few whacko theories from your favorite “quantum mechanics.” Can too much information make you more stupider? And what about magnets around the gas tank-- could Kevin’s accidental experiment change the world as we know it? We also find out what happened to poor Shimone in this week’s Stump the Chumps. His mechanic says his brake lines were cut. Were ex-girlfriends involved? Plus learn a few choice lines to give your spouse a gentle ribbing. That and more in this hour of Car Talk.

Irreconcilable Road Trip
This week, a very memorable Stump the Chumps. We check in with that (once) happily married couple about their cross-country trip - with an in-law in tow. Linda’s windshield wipers seem to have a mind of their own. Does she need a mechanic-- or an exorcist? Do Americans have more road rage than Italians? How do Sicilians keep their cool when everybody drives so badly? Plus, find out another creative use for duct tape, and hear the coolest Chevy vanity plate of all time. That, and more, on this week's edition of Car Talk.

One Brother Too Many?
Does the world really need a Click AND a Clack? Tom and Ray mull over a listener’s request for a 50% reduction in Magliozzis-- but who should get the ax? Becky wants to park her Miata on the other side of the garage – but she’ll have to find a place for all her husband’s redneck gear first. (Anyone want a set of caribou horns?) Jim’s ‘96 Cadillac sounds like a sick cow when it starts. He's looking for a cure for the chronic Caddy cough. Plus, is Rob’s child-safe door shut for good? This, and more.

I Broke the Boss' Car!
Should Kevin start printing up new resumés now that he got a quarter stuck in his boss’ seatbelt lock or will Superglue save the day? Nancy learns how to root out brake rotor rot. Ian comes up with a brilliant (?) solution to the clicking valves on his ’97 Mazda pickup truck. The Tappet brothers make Ann Marie’s mom happy by explaining that a car runs three times better at 50 miles an hour than at 80. Dr. Dan gets some self-image counseling. Plus, Tommy defends his daughter’s art history major. Would you like fries with that?
